I've been away from the on-line help world for a few
years, but recently took on a contract that involves
updating a help file written in HDK. I'm kinda
impressed; it's a lot easier to use than it was last
time I used it (about 4 or 5 years ago).
I installed it on my computer, did some work in the
Help file, and then tried to edit some Word documents
that were not - and never had been - in HDK, and found
that my system was freezing up frequently. The
problem stopped when I removed HDK from my system.
None of the other tech writers here have had this
problem with HDK -- is there some way I should have
installed it or set things up after installation to
avoid this? Has anyone else had the problem of HDK
attempting to "take over" MS Word?
thanks,
Becca
