Well, it is finally time I jump in here. And I will regret it but I am
having a good morning...

Indexes are the primary way people find information in a book. It doesn't
matter if the book is brilliantly or badly organized, they still use the
index to find stuff. You know this because you are a user and it is how you
find stuff too. Therefore, the index is very important as the means our
readers use to find the brilliant and well organized words we write.
