Debbie,
one approach would be PDF based. Here, you can distribute a CD with an
autorunning Reader, which would automatically open a start document. Your
start document would contain according links, including simple opening
calls for the various files.
For Windows, there is a document on PlanetPDF, which describes quite well
how to set up an autrun CD.
For Mac, it is possible to set an autorunning file (at least with Toast),
however, due to some virus problems, you can not expect the users to have
autorunning enabled.
For UNIX, I have some doubts that it would be possible to set up Reader
autorunning at all.
Hope, this can help.

I need to create the structure and text for the front end of our product
CD. This autorun menu with related links needs to run on multiple
platforms.
Does anyone have any information to share about how one goes about doing
this? Can it be done "by hand?" Is it better to use special software
designed for this purpose, and if so, which (I've already checked out
DemoShield and Multimedia Builder)? Any pointers to take into
consideration?
Specifically, this CD needs to run on UNIX and on Windows.
