A lot depends on what kind of use the document
is going to get, and where, but for general
office use today, something between A4 and A5
is indeed favored by companies who care about
their users' convenience. Microsoft goes
very close to A5, but with a horizontally
compressed typeface. The A4 size is too
cumbersome for today's workspace. If you
hold a book like that open, you may find
that you're blocking your neighbor's view
of his screen. Well, almost.
