It would be difficult to determine what is causing the problem (You are
unable to include the Appendix in the Word document.)
The simplest and fastest solution to the problem, as you yourself have
indicated, is to include the Appendix as a PDF in the earlier PDF. This is
quite simple and easy. First, generate the PDF file for the whole doc
(WHOLEDOC.PDF) and then the Appendix (APPENDIX.PDF). Open WHOLEDOC.PDF and
select Insert Pages (Document Menu) and then select the PDF file to be
inserted (APPENDIX.PDF). In the dialog box which appears choose where
APPENDIX.PDF is to be inserted -- Before or After -- the First or Last Page,
etc. After selection, when you click OK the APPENDIX.PDF will get added to
your WHOLEDOC.PDF as per your selection.
