At the recent STC conference in Orlando, there was a lot of interest in
instructional design. In response to that interest, several of us are
working on the formation of an Instructional Design and Learning (IDL)
Special Interest Group (SIG) within STC.

The SIG would focus on topics such as developing distance learning/WBT,
CBT, self-paced training, and materials for leader-led training. It would
deal with both software tools and principles of instructional design.

There is a SIG formation survey on the web at
http://www.stc.org/region8/snb/idlsig/survey.html

If you are interested or involved in instructional design and may want to
be a member of this SIG, please fill out the survey. The survey includes
questions about your areas of interest, SIG services that would be of value
to you, and your interest in participating in the SIG as a charter member.

Thanks for your time,
Yvonne DeGraw
