Several people have written explaining how to set things up to
avoid moires.

However, moires can still crop up if you change printers or
resize. If they do, the only way to be sure of escaping them is
to take the time to open each graphic in a paint program (nothing
fancy, even MS Paint will do). Sample the color you want (in the
case of the scroll bar, the gray squares, and drop a rectangle of
that color over the moire.

Yes, on a large project, this can be time consuming. However,
it's touches like this that mark the difference between a
professional and someone who's just occupying a work station and
collecting a cheque. so far as I'm concerned, checking graphics
should be as much a part of the final editing as proofreading.
