Our company is considering decentralizing Technical Communications so that
each division has a group of TechComers who learn the markets they serve.
What are the pros and cons of decentralization in your experiences? Anyone
work for a company who decentralized and then centralized?

If the groups are large enough then it is ok. The real problem is in standardization of materials, procedures and career progression.

If you end up with one or two writers in each division, you have problems in quality control, standardization, procedures, career progression, etc.
