Being a telecommuter, and someone who occasionally kisses a clients rear and
goes onsite, I can tell you from observation that most of the people who WASTE
time are wasting it with others, yackity-yackity-yackity. "Did you hear what
Bill did?" The one in the office I have been in an out of for the past 6 weeks,
was this, this week: "They took the meters down, the freeways are terrible. You
can't get anywhere, traffic is horrible...." Blah, blah, blah... I could name at

least a million times in six weeks when I asked a simple question that somehow
moved into my private life, "how old are your kids?" "did you run the marathon?"

"what was your time?" "i wouldn't have even run if I got that as my time." And
so on and so forth, ad nauseum.

The bottom line: I HATE being onsite because it wastes a lot of what I revere
TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! When I work at home, I choose to answer that email or not,
and if more people telecommuting there'd be less people talking about
nothingness in the hallways at work.
