I know that writers are an anal-retentive bunch (with or without the
hyphen), but does anyone really think that this is a case where the
exact spelling matters (with or without the hyphen)?

With or without the hyphen, the sea's not going to drain or the
planets falter in their courses.

But I'm obsessing now, aren't I? How anal of me! (with or without
the hyphens)
