Subject:Dialog boxes, writing about <Summary> From:kelli -dot- lewis -at- onyxgfx -dot- com To:"TECHWR-L" <techwr-l -at- lists -dot- raycomm -dot- com> Date:Tue, 7 Nov 2000 14:58:15 -0700
Thank you all for your responses. There were some very good points made. Here
is a summary:
Do not remove the terms
Remove the terms if they were of no real value to the user who doesn't know
the meaning of the terms anyway. Put descriptions/illustrations of
drop-down list boxes, radio buttons, etc. in the beginning of the manual.
"scary" is too strong of a word.
Anyone who wants an item deleted ought to have an alternative suggestion for
what term to use in its place.
I appreciate your input on this matter. I just had to know if I should be
scared of the term "radio button" <shiver> too....seeing as how I'm not a
developer and all.... ;)
Thanks,
Kelli
