"Automatically"?

I think what you want to do will be pretty similar to when you build an
index in Word.  Neither an index nor a glossary is *entirely* automatic, of
course.  But your first step is to generate a concordance file containing
all the words and phrases in the document.  That'll be your raw material for
determining what you want to gloss.  

In word, hit F1 and look through the instructions on creating an index.
Also, do a Web search for "concordance" with "Word" (or "index" with "Word"
if "concordance" doesn't generate many hits).  I remember seeing at least
one concordance builder out there that's compatible with Word.
