This thread has raised a couple of questions for me:

1) Do Webhelp systems created with XML support such features as browse
sequences, glossaries, and the Favorites tab available in HTML Help?

2) Are the majority of TW's using XML working in large pub departments? Or
is it just as common for independent contractors to use XML and/or SGML. I
realize part of this would have to do with whom you are contracting with,
but is it common to find contracts where XML would be required?

3) Is the greatest advantage XML brings to the table the ability to manage
otherwise unmanageable quantities of document changes for publishing to
multiple platforms?

It's definitely not a necessity for most people
(perhaps not even needed), but for companies like mine
who use XML to publish content to the Web, having a
doc system that conforms to this makes generating Help
and other online supporting content for the App. much
easier. Plug and play, so to speak.
