We use an Action/Result format for procedures. So "Click the whatever"
would be a numbered step under Action, with "The whatever appears" opposite
under Result (maybe with a screen shot, if appropriate). The Action column
is active voice, the Result column is passive, since things appear or
happen. There is no question as to what caused the result.
