I wonder how many pounds of actual paper documents they have in the space
station? It would be interesting to know, especially considering the
enourmous cost of lifting anything up to earth orbit. I imagine they have as
much info on-line as possible, but I'd also imagine they've got paper docs
as a backup in case something goes wrong w/ the computer system.

*That* would be a useful stat the next time you're making an argument for
tec pubs funding: "Well, NASA considers technical documentation so important
they spent 20 million dollars last year shooting it up to the space
station."

Then again, I can imagine the rejoinder: "Yeah, and they spent 1.5 billion
on a toilet. You do the math."
