Subject:Dialogue or dialog? From:Grace Fielder <gfielder -at- typemaker -dot- co -dot- uk> To:"TECHWR-L" <techwr-l -at- lists -dot- raycomm -dot- com> Date:Thu, 16 Nov 2000 15:44:33 +0000
Before you heave a huge sigh of "oh no, not again", I have searched the
archives (and other places) I thought I may be able to find the answer to my
question. However, if your tolerance level towards 'newbie' questions is
low, I suggest you click your delete button now...
OK, if there is anyone still reading, here is my question:
In the user manual I am currently editing, there are many mentions of
'dialogue' boxes.
However, the software developer seems to think they should be called
'dialog' boxes because that is the correct way to spell it in 'programmer
speak'.
I thought it was simply a matter of US people spelling it 'dialog' and UK
people spelling it 'dialogue', I had never heard of a 'programmers' way of
spelling something.
Who is right or is a matter of opinion?
Thanks
Grace
