TechWhirl (TECHWR-L) is a resource for technical writing and technical communications professionals of all experience levels and in all industries to share their experiences and acquire information.
For two decades, technical communicators have turned to TechWhirl to ask and answer questions about the always-changing world of technical communications, such as tools, skills, career paths, methodologies, and emerging industries. The TechWhirl Archives and magazine, created for, by and about technical writers, offer a wealth of knowledge to everyone with an interest in any aspect of technical communications.
And I can save you some effort on this one, too...contact me off-list if you
want some boilerplate for dealing with this situation.

There's a fourth possible response to those who send queries the list
without doing any research. It's the same response many of us (hopefully)
use in real life when someone new to our writing group, project team,
company, etc., makes a mistake. Take the person aside and remind them of the
rules. Send a private post. Public reprimands don't add value to the list
and are mean-spirited.
