Janet Valade wrote about HTML Transit as an option for generating HTML.

I am currently using Virtual Media's WebLite to convert a large suite of documents for a web site. WebLite comes at an economical price of US$345. WebLite enables you to set up a conversion template for HTML Help, plain HTML, and HTML with embedded TOC/Index/Full text search. Once you are satisfied with your template, you make it the WebLite default template.

I define the HTML tags and classes that I want Word styles converted to and write a matching cascading style sheet for my customised tags.

The VM web site is http://www.virtualmedia.com.au/
