I was involved in my high school drama group for a year or two, and
discovered that my facility for remembering spoken words (long before the
first performance night, I would have the entire play memorised) was
considered both unusual and amusing. Unfortunately my memory of the plays
faded over time. (Or perhaps fortunately: I don't really *want* to be able
to recite the whole of "James Bond At St. Trinians" - the odd lines I can
still remember are more than enough.)
But then I am quite definitely neither pre-literate (not since I was 3) nor
post-literate (and never plan to be: not with about 3000 books in the
house).
