Surely I'm not the only U.S. tech writer still using GPO guidelines. The Government Printing Office Style Manual dictates that "an apostrophe is used to indicate...the coined plurals of letters, figures, and symbols." GPO provides examples such as YMCA's and ABC's. IAW GPO, PC's would correct; PCs would not. While this is not a popular standard, we have used this rule consistently in our documentation. Having adhered to funky GPO rules for years and years, I kinda like this one.
