You can use a style sheet, either inline with your code or external and
define your links so that they don't have an underline. You can define
other style properties--color, size, mouseover effects, etc.) as well.

At a minimum, try something like the following:
<style type="text/css">

a {text-decoration:none}

</style>

One caveat: Users can override your style declaration in their browsers
by not allowing the page to specify font styles.
