I'm planning the online documentation for a Linux software product that will
have a web-based GUI. We want to provide a Search capability for the online
docs. Because we have no control over the user's choice of browser or platform,
we want the search application to run on the Web server (Apache). Our
requirements are:

* Java-based tool compatible with Apache
* Precompiled search index rather than search-on-the-fly, for performance
(desirable but not required)
* Can search HTML (required) and PDF (desirable but not required)
* Simple integration with the web server
* No java or javascript runs in the browser; only HTML and ASP gets served up to
the end user

Any product suggestions would be very helpful, thanks!
