I finally bit the bullet and upgraded from 5.5 to 6.0 last week. I also upgraded my Acrobat from 3.1 to 4.0. I tend to be a bit upgrade phobic, but the whole thing went so smooth. I got some advice to uninstall previous versions and then install the new version - I don't know whether that makes a difference, but I did it anyway.

The install and configuration was such a breeze compared to 5.5. My PDFs are so much better.

I really like what I see with FrameMaker 6.0. The online help even is much improved. When you open a 5.5 document, it upgrades it. If you save it on top, you will not be able to open it in 5.5 again.

I still have a few questions, but I've decided to take a couple of hours and go through the manual.

All-in-all, I'm glad I upgraded, and would recommend it!

PS - After installing Acrobat 4.0, even creating PDFs from Office applications was better!
