You can turn off this "feature" if you want to. In Word 2000, go to Tools >
Customize and click on the Options tab. Remove the checkmark from "Menus
show recently used commands first."
Windows 2000 has a similar feature for the Start menu. You can turn it off
by right-clicking the toolbar, then removing the checkmark from "Use
Personalized Menus."
