yeah and when I started in the early 80's I learned postscript and the Xerox
page mark-up language so I could use the two laser printers my company
bought. There were no GUI tools then. So I wrote a filter to take the
output of SomethingScript (I am unsure of the program, but it was
WordStar-ish) and output Postscript or Xerox. When FrameMaker came out a
few years later, I embraced the tool and only, very occasionally, almost
never wrote postscript apps again.

This is not to say students shouldn't learn HTML/XML/SGML/xxxML. But a
writing program shouldn't be teaching them. Maybe a Comp Sci class should
offer page markup language classes. They are languages after all.
