A Lieutenant in the U.S. Army I met in 1968 after he had been in VietNam for
two years said the Army teaches the following about leadership:

First Law of Leadership:

Take care of the troops, and the troops will take care of you.

Second Law of Leadership:

Let the troops do their jobs without interference, but show up on the front
lines when they start to suffer casualties.

I believe these laws apply to every team-based tech communications project
I've ever seen.
