You'd be surprised. I've seen enough 300+ page documents in MS Word
to make me very cautious about taking contracts that required me to
use MS Word.

Working on smaller pieces is probably the most effective (or least
frustrating) workaround, and, if it can work for MS Word, then it
should work for StarOffice just as well.

(BTW, I just noticed that I tend to insist on calling the tool "MS
Word" instead of "Word." I guess I don't like accepting Microsoft's
copyright on "word." :-) )
