Both times I have been laid off or walked out on a job, it turned out to be
one of the best things I could have done. Good things that would never have
happened suddenly showed up. The time I walked on a job, I had bought a
house 3 months before and was the sole support of it and my 15 year old kid.
Talk about guts! But I went into contracting, which led to owning and
running to this company. Would never have done that if I stayed at the
salaried job.

One of my best writers was fired from her last full time job. I was over
there that night with a celebration bag with a chocolate covered apple and
other fun stuff. "Now something exciting can happen!" I told her.

That was 6 months ago. I was right. She has been working for me pretty much
ever since and gotten to do some really fun stuff. And other really exciting
things are happening in her life.

So take a deep breath and get ready for something exciting!
