Hyphenation of a word: vice-president? (Take II)

Dick Margulis responding to my comment that "Whatever "some" may say, the
dictionary always sets it with a hyphen", observes: <<In Canada, yes,
perhaps. But in the US, where we have a President and a Vice President (caps
used when we are writing about people elected to those Federal offices), the
word is not hyphenated. The exception is in the formation of a compound
adjective, "vice-presidential.">>

I stand (north of the border) corrected. Besides, I forgot that you have
both a President (George W.) and Vice President (Bill Clinton). <gdrlh>
