Processes need to identify inputs, outputs, the resources and their
interrelationships. Staff are usually separated from other resource types,
and have defined communication channels.

Subject: process templates

My boss asked me today if I knew of any templates for documenting processes.
I told him that there are several types of structured writing (like Info
Mapping, etc.), but he really just wants a list of questions/topics that
should be included in process documentation. I work for a retail company, so
we aren't talking about developing software (although we document how to use
lots of it). I think it depends on the subject being documented, but he
would like something to start from. I think his intent is to give this to
the SMEs so that they have an inkling of what we will be asking when we
start documenting their processes.

So, what questions/topics would you put in a process template (for lack of a
better term)?

Thanks,
