Meyers-Briggs, Enneagram, horoscopes... Don't people
have anything better to do than try to classify
people? What if you just get to know someone and do
your own scoping relative to your personality as you
know yourself? For example, no one has ever been able
to decide what my Meyers-Briggs or Enneagram status
is. It changes. But one thing I know about myself is
that I usually like to take action rather than sit
back, so based on this bias I know that I view the
more 'meditative' decision-makers with some
impatience. I also know that because of my bias toward
taking action, I am sometimes restless or rash and
need the balance of a more methodical type.

This method requires work-- because one must know
oneself-- and there is no convenient map of the
territory, but at least it makes each person an
adventure instead of a diagnosis.
