I just changed two digits in a powerpoitn presentation but it took 2 hours!
The creator of the file somehow inserted a spreadsheet or table into a slide
as a picture. When I double clicked to edit what I thougth was an embedded
file, the "edit picture" dialogue box came up. I finally figured out that I
could select the object, copy it to the clipboard, paste it into a blank
Word file. It was a "drawing" in which each cell contents was a textbox. I
was able to edit the appropriate text box and cut & paste the object back
into the slide.

I'm just burning with curiosity as to how the creator of the slide got a
spreadsheet or table transmorgrified into a word drawing object. I really
don't know what they started with, and am only assuming that it was a table
or spreadsyeet. In any case, I really find it hard to imagine that someone
created a spreadsheet-like drawing using text boxes in Word or Powerpoint.
The company uses Lotus Notes and I don't know Notes, so I guess it could be
some Lotus-to-microsoft thing.

Can anyone enlighten me?

TIA
Patricia
