This is to follow up on the recent discussion of career and personality tests. The other day, I did a search on google.com for related sites and promised a summary so here goes...

One caveat: I really haven't had time to explore all of the sites, so this is more of a general overview. I took four of the free tests and found the results to be fairly predictable in terms of my interests and personality.

MAPP (Motivational Appraisal of Personal Potential) Results are fairly substantial compared to other free tests of this kind. Evaluates your interests in jobs, people, and things. You can pay for a more thorough evaluation.

Offers tests of many types, more of a fun site. Has personality test and IQ test. Free personality test results seem accurate, however brief. You can pay for a more thorough evaluation.

Has the Keirsey test, which again revealed few surprises in its free brief evaluation. I would disagree with a couple of the fine points, but that's another story...<g> You can pay for a more thorough evaluation.

Has a free brief evaluation. Reads a bit like a horoscope in that its generalizations could potentially apply to anyone and everyone. Questions were fairly narrow in focus. You can pay for a more thorough evaluation.

Has several types of tests. Interesting site that might be worth visiting again. Also has ratings for tests offered.

Out of Arizona State University, this page is more of a reference for students pondering career choices. Contains brief descriptions of the tests, but in the short time I visited I did not see links to the actual tests.

Lists twenty career sites, including several of the tests I accessed already. May be a good reference page and more concise than the google.com results.

Another reference site where you can find a narrowed search on career tests.

I hope this information is helpful to the several people who requested it. I haven't taken the MB test yet, but it's been rumored that my group may be subjected to it soon at work!
