Hi Megan,

I have been a student in the USU graduate tech writing
program for several semesters (I will graduate next
year).

Overall I have found the program to be very
worthwhile: a good mix of academic vs. practical work
and individual vs. group work, a diverse and friendly
bunch of students, supportive and knowledgable
professors.

The online course setup works very well. The
asychronous discussions mean that those of us in
different timezones can contribute equally, but there
is also a real-time chat facility available when
necessary, for example during group projects.

Bottom line: highly recommended.

Note: I chose USU over Texas Tech for one main reason:
cost. When I looked into it a couple of years ago,
Texas Tech charged out-of-state tuition even for the
online course. In contrast, USU charges the same
tuition as for in-state students. So whereas USU costs
me around $495/course, Texas Tech would have cost me
upwards of $2000/course. This may have changed now.

./Scott
