There are other words, certainly, but I think that "persistence"
has become a feature. So it's not so much that you're trying to
tell what happens to the information in that sentence as trying
to make the point that your hardware retains the information if you
trip over the plug.

I agree with the original poster, gag gag gag. But I think you're
more likely to get that sentence through a review if you include
the word persistence or persist somewhere else.
