Hi all,

I am preparing a paper on the importance of tech writers having at least
fundamental knowledge of design and programming so that they can not only
take control of the content they create but also take control, or at least
have understanding of, the delivery systems for that content--e.g. Web
sites, databases, CBTs, etc. I need some war stories from you guys. Have any
of you had the experience of carefully nurturing your content, only to have
it driven into the ground by a Web designer or a programmer who didn't
understand how it needed to be delivered to the user? Or, have you had
negative experiences where you created both your content and your delivery
system? Tales of any combination of events, both positive and negative, are
welcome. Please be as specific as you can about the causes of the success or
the failure, and the time or money lost or saved. Many thanks in advance!
Please respond off-list.
