The TechWhirl Archives and magazine, created for, by and about technical writers, offer a wealth of knowledge to everyone with an interest in any aspect of technical communications.
I have to add my voice to those who were not terribly "horrified" by this ad
copy. I've seen a lot worse.
As Bill says, the key point is that you can save time with this product, so
the breathless fragmentary tone is quite appropriate. Especially if it's
aimed at a younger audience. Which I think it probably is. Don't you?
The judgement call on this copy shouldn't be based on rules of grammar or
punctuation, but on how effective it is at selling the product. And none of
us have enough information to make that call.
> Actually, the more I look at the ad the better I like it -- the premise if

> two months free, free installation, free equipment, and a money-back
> guarantee. This is not the kind of stuff that lends itself to poetry or
> other forms of beauty. We aren't selling Rolls-Royces here.
