I agree with Tom. I think part of the problem with this poll is that very
few technical writers can or do place themselves exclusively in one
category.
My "core competencies" are:
1. I know how to spell.
2. I use good grammar in writing.
3. I analyze documents very quickly, and can sort out others thoughts in a
logical manner.
4. I know garbage when I see it, and refuse to write such no matter WHO
wants me to do it.
5. I can use Word, PowerPoint, and Visio well enough to impress most
people.
6. I can surf the Internet very quickly and efficiently, making myself look
like an expert in any field within a matter of minutes.
