I find this thread quite amusing, as here at Schlumberger, I am in charge of
maintaining our glossary. One of the functions of this document is to spell
out acronyms. (Don't ask)

As part of a recent update, the dept. sent out requests for additions to the
glossary, and I wound up with 18 pages (!!) of new terms, about 60% of which
were TLAs. Sometimes the SMEs here talk for 10 or 15 minutes, using only
TLAs and verbs :)
