Diane,

If your company already has licenses for Dreamweaver, you can use Deva
Tools and Deva Search to create navigation for your help systems. The
cost is half of what you'd pay for RoboHELP HTML. Check it out at
http://www.devahelp.com.

Subject: Writing On-line Help

In the past, I have written some simple on-line help files using HTML.
Now,
our company is moving towards more robust help files for the software
that
we are developing.

I know that most large companies use RoboHelp, and am willing to learn
that
if necessary, but the financial resources to purchase this may not be
available at this point in our little dot-com.

My question: Are there less-expensive programs that we can use? We
are
looking for a program that can create an index system similar to the
help
files in Windows, and that is easily updated as our software evolves.

Thanks for your help!
