And in a sense, they are right some of the time.
Often, those stock phrases are accepted because they represent a
legal stance that has been tested through trial in front of the
courts. They are comfortable that the phrase represents a concept
that has been proven to result in the outcome they want should they
have to go to court around something involving that email.
Just like we have sets of phrases that we know are acceptable to our
audience, they have phrases that they know are acceptable to THEIR audience.
