Techwhirlers:

I had a job interview today with a major national corporation here in Memphis today: the job is developing training content.

I feel that I nailed the interview: I went in really confident and left feeling even more confident.

I'd like to say a special thanks to two techwhirlers (I don't know if they subscribe to STC Lone Writers or Techcomm, but I'm sharing anyway because their resources are so good).

So, thank you KR Wolfe for writing the article on "Questions to Ask Prospective Employers." Also, thanks go to the Rays for publishing this article on the Techwhirler site. I found these questions very good and used them during the interview. I think they really impressed the interviewer. See the article

at htp://www.raycomm.com/techwhirl/questions.html.

Also, thanks to Donn Le Vie, Jr. The article you posted on the about.com website for techwriters (http://techwriting.about.com/careers/techwriting/library/weekly/aa083100.htm) was very informative. I used it both as a starting point for my cover letter and as a the leave-behind document you suggest. I went a little further than just doing bullets on what I could do for the company: I reiterated my committment, the means to make that commitment, and then listed what

I could do for the company. This document seems to be going over really well (to see a version of it, see my website, http://www.jewahe.net/resume).

I'm keeping my fingers crossed and sending the thank you letter. I'll let everyone know how it goes!

Have a great weekend.

Jeff

Still looking...but getting closer.
