Hi,
Many thanks to everyone who responded to my query about User Needs Analysis
and Usability Testing training in the UK.
As I feared, there appear to be no short courses available. The distance
learning MA in Technical Writing from Sheffield Hallam University
recommended by Vanessa Amdurer may be the closest we can get to it
(http://www2.shu.ac.uk/prospectus/op_pglookup1.cfm?id_num=CUL012).
Nancy Osterhout and several others recommend these books:
1) User and Task Analysis for Interface Design,
by JoAnn T. Hackos and Janice C. Redish
John Wiley & Sons, Inc., www.wiley.com/compbooks/
ISBN 0-471-17831-4
2) A Practical Guide to Usability Testing (revised edition),
by Joseph S. Dumas and Janice C. Redish
Intellect Books, www.intellectbooks.com
ISBN 1-84150-020-8
Aruna Panangipally additionally recommends:
Rubin, J - Handbook of Usability Testing
All three books are available from Amazon.
