Henry Vandelinde reports: <<We are working on a doc that has been translated
into French and the index won't update into French. We translate all the
time, but this is the first time that this has happened.>>
Two possibilities. First, you may need to _update_ each index field (select
the whole text using "Control-A", then press F9) to make the index fields
update. Second, if you've tried this and the text still isn't updating, you
may have encountered a bug we've noticed that involves working with Word's
fields. Sometimes, particularly with hyperlinks, you need to insert the text
cursor within the field (by revealing the field code and clicking in it),
then move the cursor back and forth using the arrow keys before you can
actually enter text in the field. _Then_ update the field. If you don't move
the cursor first, Word doesn't seem to recognize the new text. Since you
already have text inserted in the index field, perhaps you'll have to open
each field, move the cursor, insert a space, delete the space, then update
the field. If that works, it's enough clicks that you should probably create
a macro to do the work for you.
