TechWhirl (TECHWR-L) is a resource for technical writing and technical communications professionals of all experience levels and in all industries to share their experiences and acquire information.
For two decades, technical communicators have turned to TechWhirl to ask and answer questions about the always-changing world of technical communications, such as tools, skills, career paths, methodologies, and emerging industries. The TechWhirl Archives and magazine, created for, by and about technical writers, offer a wealth of knowledge to everyone with an interest in any aspect of technical communications.
meaning, can't we ALL agree to forego posting these patently spurious items
that only provoke watercooler-style debates of little or no relevance to
what we're all about here?
PS: any & all re-posting or forwardings should be doublechecked for
authenticity by going to, at a minimum, the snopes site cited below, or
other reliable resources -- I've found that 99.99999% of all forwarded msgs,
like those damned petitions, are bogus -- no surprise -- but many
well-intentioned folks persist in sending along every bleeding-heart or
isn't-it-amazing or similar time- & space-wasting email... my heart [&
wallet] bleeds for many causes, but I haven't found a one via the 'net's
torrent of forwarded crap that deserves attention -- this latest exercise
over the obviously BS-laden sample test was no different.
hmmmph.
and FWIW, my managers ALL lie to me, it's called MANAGEMENT!
I can get 'em to agree to Reality, one on one, offline, outside "the context
of this meeting" and so on, but the sh*t still flows downhill... and we the
employees are the recipients, like it or not. They *must* hold others
responsible,,, since they cannot do the same themselves. it's just turtles,
y'all, all the way down,,,,
