And it is an excellent article, Eric. I particularly enjoyed the section
on "Show, don't tell" and "Take Responsibility."

One thing that I've encountered lately are Tech Pubs Empire Builders. They
are consumed with building a technical publications team or department
that conforms to their vision of communicative purity, that they convince
themselves that existing tools, techniques, styles, or even employees need
to be removed. This typically leads to pointless squabbles over irrelevant
issues and painful meetings where people justify their personal obsessions
with misguided efforts to "improve readability."

Funny how writers always assume their personal preferences improve
"readability."
