I clicked "other" for two reasons:
(1) At the moment, I'd say I'm not even a competent beginner in using the
product.
(2) But, I know a lot more than the minimum *about* using the product.

The documentation I am writing makes the assumption (agreed to by both the
product users and the product developers) that the user is a competent Java
programmer. I'm not. But I do know how to check code for obvious
wrongnesses, even if I couldn't write it myself. I studied Java when I
started here to be able to follow what the developers were talking about,
not in order to become a Java developer myself: therefore, I doubt if I'll
ever become more than a competent beginner.

But I do understand how the product works, and can explain it to a Java
developer so that s/he understands. It's not a lot different from
documenting a product that doesn't exist yet...
