Summary: need more specifics on benefits of a 6.0 upgrade from 5.5. List of
benefits at bottom.
I did get two responses about the benefits of a Frame upgrade from 5.5 to
6.0. However, I'd like some more information. (Be as specific as you can.) I
know that the department would benefit from an upgrade, but the
"purse-holders" need a very well argued case to consider spending the money.
*Does Frame 6 allow the use of <ctrl> or <alt> when selecting which files in
a book you'd like to print?
*Besides search and replace being available as a book-wide feature, did the
search and replace improve? (For example, maybe 6.0 allows boolean
expressions.)
One person mentioned improvements in "multi-file operations and
book-management features." Can anyone give me more specifics on these?
The other mentioned, "book-wide features, like spell-checking, search and
replace, and the like." Does anyone have other specific examples of new or
improved book-wide features in 6.0?
Pros for 6.0 so far:
book-wide spell checking
book-wide search and replace
re-order chapters/files in a book by dragging them (in book view)
rename chapters/files in book view
includes new variable <$chapnum>
Word filters may be a little better
