Microsoft decided to pull the Smart Tags idea for now for both Windows and
IE!

June 28 - Microsoft has decided to shelve the launch of a key software 
feature that was to be included in the forthcoming Windows XP operating 
system, following criticism that the "Smart Tags" function would redirect 
users to the company's favored Web sites, the Wall Street Journal reported
