Subject:RE: Is the job market really *that* bad? From:Chris Hamilton <cah_91 -at- yahoo -dot- com> To:"TECHWR-L" <techwr-l -at- lists -dot- raycomm -dot- com> Date:Sat, 30 Jun 2001 12:14:11 -0700 (PDT)
Here in Tampa, the market is slower than the last two
minutes of a close American football game. That having
been said, there seems to be a lot (relatively
speaking) going on down in Ft. Lauderdale/West Palm.
So you can probably stay employed, but you might have
to travel to do it, and you might have to take less
than you were hoping for.
Best of luck to anyone out of work and looking. And if
you're out of work, it's worth taking the opportunity
to learn some new things. I'm picking up VB6 and
Access development (pretty close to the same thing)
and getting back up to speed on Java. Might even write
some code again, if the opportunity arises. It's going
to be tough until things pick up, but when they do, I
want to be in position to ride the wave.
